I love how every time I read your work, I feel the calm and get transported to your world for a few minutes. I am sure most readers feel this way. It's sheer magic, Ila. Keep writing!

Lovely ! indeed the drive to Cabo de Rama and the place itself is magical. The other side of Goa , driving the hilly streets to get there, the green patches . Monsoon on the coast is something else.. The life is completely different in this season all along teh coast , no fishing , so stored fish comes out for the local dishes ...

Absolutely! I remember some of your earlier blogs about spending time along the Konkan Coast. I haven't done that much along Karnataka and Maharashtra, hope to do that soon!

One can enjoy and one can sulk - why dont i have a pad in Goa...and why do you have to write it so beautifully - it hurts all the more.

Loved this. I've been to Goa only once in the monsoon and it was spectacular. I couldn't get into the sea but I also couldn't get enough of the gray of the sea meeting the gray of the sky at the horizon. Your essay made me remember so much more.

I have said this before (many times!) but your writing has this ability to slow down time. It is a rare and wonderful quality. Beautiful, immersive essay.
