I think we spoke on this a while ago. Exploring the place where you come from is underrated. I dont know much about the place where I grew up and would look amused at those who would ask me ‘tell me good places to see in your city’. I dont think I explored much - I loved indoors. Thankfully you don’t have a problem like I do. Why? Because you came out with such a fabulous write up about the place I still regard as the best city in India. I hope this is first of many. Thank you for writing this ila!
Much relate! While growing up I mostly preferred being in my room, curled up with a good book, away from humans. Something changed when I got to college. I had to venture out of necessity, and somewhere along the way, I realized I could find solitude outdoors too. Silent observation is underrated and I think slow walks allow us to do that. Thanks for reading and for the kind words (as always) :)
So good. Loved the fluidity of prose even while you were going into the history of a place. And I couldn't agree more - walking through a city is really the best way to explore it.
Awesome ! I grew up around Charminar, watching these monuments up close, Our boarding school was right next to the tombs. Back then there were hardly any humans around that area, I had no Idea about the history. Now every opportunity I get,
I delve more into hyderabad history and to my astonishment, be blown away.
This is really good! Exploring cities on foot is indeed an amazing experience!
Thanks Puneet :)
