What a beautiful writeup! Makes me want to takeoff and be on the next flight to Goa tomorrow morning!
I was lucky to be able to make a couple of dozen trips to Goa in the last two years in the process of designing n building a friend's home. In building that home, the love for Goa has grown inside me...
Truly, more you go, the more you want to get back for more!
Loved the end of your article, I live in goa & moved here with covid , took me time to fall in love with her! Your end captured it so beautifully : “A close friend once wrote me a note in which he said that despite knowing me for many years he felt like he’d barely scratched the surface of who I was. His words have stayed with me for various reasons, but I particularly feel this way about Goa. The more I visit it, the more I discover, and the more it calls me back.”
Going by your headline- discovering Goa beyond beaches and booze, do checkout fascinating temples of Goa(in & around Ponda) with their unique architecture if possible, I’m sure you will like it
Beautiful, descriptive and so much more. I have been to Goa for doing touristy things and then failing miserably. A simple walk is on my list for if and whenever a ‘next time’ happens and you are to be blamed for that. I liked the part about visiting old places and how it makes us want to imagine how life must have been. Excellent work. Ila? Is it ila? Yea. Okay.
You write very well just provide additional information how one can reach this places like Carriapa house in pondicherry or maybe all this info avaiable on net.
This is beautiful! Thank you :)
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the recommendation Harsha! Have added it to my list of things to do on my next Goa trip :)
Lovely write up with lovely photos! So many people told me to try bebinca, but I never did! How was it?
Thank you Pritam! Haha, I was underwhelmed when I first tried it years ago, but now love it! The texture is very similar to Bombay Karachi Halwa.
This is beautiful. Also such amazing pictures!
Keep the new posts coming :))
Thanks Puneet 💜

Beautiful post Ila. Gives a different perspective of visiting places and looking beyond the usual touristy attractions. Great pictures too.
Thank you Santosh!

Thanks, and yes all logistical information is easily available online and on their website, which I have hyperlinked in the post.
Chandor is one of my favourite spots in south goa 😭❤️ I am glad you spotted
It’s indeed such a lovely place! The old heritage houses, lovely church, the markets… so wholesome 💜
