I love Hyderabad. I have stayed in Hyderabad. I had no idea about the Hyderabad you show us Ila. Thank god for that. The working life memories are somehow dull when compared to the memories that include wandering and finding reflections in still water. Graveyards are of interest to yours truly too, though I have not explored even one of them, ever. Thank you for writing this and using khoob saari pics.
That first paragraph is love. As is the rest of this post, but the setup was makkhan.
I love the specifics you gone into, like the motifs and influences on the pillars. It made the place come alive. Your essays have this amazing quality of taking a reader inside a place. This one was no different. The prose, pictures, and narration - on point. Hyderabad trip needed.
For someone who thinks Hydernad is a second home - I can't believe there are places I haven't even considered exploring! You show me a Hyd that's like in another galaxy, time and place waiting to be discovered! This is fabulous writing Ila - but that is always the case no :)!
Thank you so much, Uday! I hope you get to visit the Paigah tombs on your next trip :) I myself learnt about it only two years ago - finally got to visit this December. There's so much in our cities waiting to be discovered and re-discovered!
