Love your Uzbek experience Ila. I just discovered your newsletter, went back and read through the part-1 as well.. totally WOW'ed!
I recently hosted a podcast episode on Iran, with a guest who travelled there a little while back.. The guest shared a bunch of photos from his trip there and it included pictures of the Shah mosque (in Isfahan). I noticed that several photos of the Registan Square you shared here are so similar to the Shah mosque. (The square in Isfahan is called the Naqsh-e Jahan Square).
Enjoyed your story and now waiting for Part III :)
Lovely photos Ila, cant wait for Part III
Ila, the pictures! Thanks for taking us on a tour of Samarkand. Also, hi to Ulugh Beg. Sounds like a baller dude.
Can't wait for part III.

Thank you! Iran is on my bucketlist too, hopefully once things there are a bit calmer. The Shah mosque sounds lovely, will check out your podcast :)
The pictures are stunning! Every post you publish bumps Uzbekistan a few places up on my places-to-visit list.
Thanks Rohan! I assure you it’s worth a visit and the photos don’t even come close :)
Excellent. And such amazing pictures. Ulugh Begg is such a fascinating character.
Quite an outlier indeed! Thanks for reading, Ayush :)
